I'm seeing the following snippet at the top of my build.xml:
| <property name="profile" value="dev" />
| <property file="build-${profile}.properties" />
component.properties (runtime):
jndiPattern \#{ejbName}/local
| debug true
build-dev.properties (buildtime):
debug=true
| action.dir=WEB-INF/dev
So I guess it makes sense now. The @...@ is basically a variable that is
plugged in from the *.properties files above at different times.

in when we deploy the application." - pg. 7
