I can't comment on the JIRA issue, so I'll post here. I saw the code changes in JIRA and they look like they should be good. I'll test on our end and let you know.
Also it doesn't look like they will handle situations that do not start with a / (probably not very likely, but it may be a possibility) such as: <img src="img/hello.gif" /> Will that case still work?
