I got this to work by including the necessary cxf files in my ear file ( cxf-rt-frontend-jaxws*.jar), and then removing the following from jboss/lib/endorsed:
jboss-jaxws.jar, joss-jaxws-ext.jar For a convenient way to populate your ear file with the correct cxf jars, refer to http://cwiki.apache.org/CXF20DOC/maven-integration-and-plugin.html - but omit the dependency on the jetty transport.
