You are right. I just reproduced this on JBossAS5.0 GA by placing a queue configuration file in %JBOSS_HOME%/server/all/deploy-hasingleton folder. On shutdown, the file was deleted. Could you please open a thread in JBossAS5 forum http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewforum&f=287, where someone might be knowing the cause? You can point to this topic in the your thread. The issue can be reproduced from the command prompt too without the need of running as service (so the "service" factor can be ruled out as the cause)
