1. Go to the Seam getting started road map and follow the install instructions exactly, don't deviate:

Subscribe to this forum and read every post. 5. Post questions if you can't get you answer from 1,2 or 3. I wish I had done that Seam has a steep learning curve, but it promises great benefits and the rewards of faster development in the end.
