I've got exactly the same issue, which reassures me in a way. I think that the JBoss hack over the J2EE tutorial from sun doesn't take the last changes of the latter into account, which causes a bunch of incompatibility errors.
I really think that you guys should provide us with your own working and stable version of Duke's Bank application rather than giving us the link to download it if it's possible.
