Yes, there was this time. Let's look forward and help all that this
does not happen again. It is then also your task to respond to other
people's suggestions.

There have been lot's of updates within cvs last month, even more since
last release. You can simply get them from sourceforge CVS.
Please do also have a look into the developers list

  http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jdbforms-developers

and subscribe. You'll get messages about cvs updates and, although
this list was not thought for that, there have also been some discussions.

They are within cvs, available for everyone. We just need someone
to maintain and publish the manual, see my other post today.

I cannot speak for others, but this is how I think it should be:

 - write a detailed proposal to the list
 - let's talk about it, welcome comments and other types of inputs
 - write a documentation, post it again
 - do the coding work
 - upload it to cvs yourself
 - document your changes

We should also try to coordinate our cvs access using the list in order
not to interfere with each other.

Please take thread

[dbforms] foreign key support in dbforms: comments please (2002-10-11)

ending in

[dbforms] Foreign Key support: First Draft of documentation (2002-10-17)

as an example how this could be. Eric is currently working on implementation.
Henner has done his search extension in a similar way. We should welcome
anything that is

 - useful
(- backwards compatible)
 - well documented
 - offered to be discussed

I think we can agree on that. And surely you would need cvs write
access, if you are going to contribute code regularly. The cvs on sourceforge
site is not closed, I have not seen Joe refusing to authorize someone.
And I can't imagine a better home than sourceforge for a project like this.

If someone wants to update the website, it is also better to ask
Joe for help than to setup another site.

Regards

Dirk
