I would suggest using something that can:

1) check your xml

2)validate DbForms_UsersGuide.xml

        you can't validate individual chapters but rather have to do the        whole
book at once.  Checking the xml first sometimes catches                  simple
errors so you don't have to wait for the whole thing to         validate to
find out you forgot to close a tag.

If you aren't doing any rearranging of tags then any editor will do.
