what other purpose do you mean? I was not involved with DbForms for 2 years now, so, maybe i am missing something, but the initial purpose of "autoupdate" was precisely to allow or disallow multi-column updates.There should another way of turning the feature off other than using autoUpdate="false" as the autoUpdate attribute is used for other purpose and it'll be retain its original use if not coupled with the multi-row update
