I use 5.0.18 under RH9 but think any 5.x should be fine. Now if you need to speficially use the 2.4 api, then you'll need to build from cvs changing the method sig that Henner mentioned. Tomcat 5 with DBForms compiled under the 2.3 api works fine though.
Is someone using Tomcat 5 and servlet api 2.4?
not yet personally and can live without it, for the moment at least.
