What system are you using? The NT version of Emacs, by default, binds the
virtual S-mouse-2 event to the physical act of pressing the shift key while
simultaneously pressing both buttons of the standard 2-button Windows mouse.
The Emacs CUA-mode, which emulates the standard Windows mouse behaviour,
binds the virtual S-mouse-2 event to the physical act of pressing the shift
key while
pressing the right button of a two-button mouse.
