The best way is to delete the version of JDE (including the entry in the
etc directory) that comes with XEmacs and install the beta version of JDE
the way you would it install it for Emacs.
I plan ultimately to update the XEmacs distribution with JDE 2.1.6 but at
the moment I'm too swamped to do this.
