Maybe are you using EIEIO 0.17b1? If so, there is a bug in slot type checking in
eieio.el. Eric Ludlam has fixed it in latest CVS
version of eieio.el. Attached you will find the fixed version. Notice also that
EIEIO 0.15 is the recommended version to use with
JDE (EIEIO 0.16 should work too).
