I looked at this message and it must have been fixed in cygwin. C-Break
there works fine.
But....

Inspired by this key short cut I tried:
C-c C-\
On my emacs running on windows and this works as well though C-q C\ RET
did not.
But oh well I am happy. Now I know two ways to invoke the thread dump
feature "C-c C-\" and "M-x comint-quit-subjob".
