As far as I can tell you are correct about CEDET and XEmacs. I'd tried doing the same late last year and gave up pretty quickly. I have since switched to using the GNU version exclusively, and lost track of where XEmacs is. It does seem that the momentum in Emacs development has switched to the GNU version in the last decade (?). I'm personally biased towards making JDEE a GNU Emacs only toolset because I'm not sure there is a community of users who will make it work for XEmacs (or even just one user). The final straw is that CEDET seems impossible to use on XEmacs, at least to a casual user like me, which knocks JDEE off that platform. Cheers!
