I used to use this for maven with subprojects. 

The problem is that what maven actually does is so complicated that it
is really hard to work out what it does. This is why, I think, we need
to turn the architecture backward. Instead of JDE telling the build tool
what to do, the build tool is the main point of configuration, and tells
JDE what to do, and where to find stuff.
