I'd like to point out that my client does treat headline messages in a different from chat|normal messages. Here's a quick screenshot:

The specs should add some more information about how these headlines should/could be used. For example, when you click on the popup box, RhymBox will load the URL that was in the jabber:x:oob, or if there is none there, it will look at the body of the message for any "http://..."; matches.
Some services add jabber:x:expire elements to the message, is there any specification that tells client developers how to use this information?

Well, the first question is: do the clients currently listed as having
"headline support" actually live up to the requirements? And what are those
requirements? I like Michael's idea, but my guess is that none of the
clients treat headlines that way, and so the actual requirements are not so
lofty.

Can someone explain what the _current_ headline support requirements are?
