For anyone monitoring my success (or as previously stated failure) I am proud to admit that I have everything working rock solid. That is Jabber, AIM-T, Yahoo-T, MSN-t, Conference, and JUD.
Thanks to all who helped. The problem was pointed out to me yesterday that RedHat's glibc upgrade seemed to screw things up. So I installed a clean version of RedtHat 7.3, updated all but the glibc, installed jabber and success.
