But AFAICS JIT uses a rather heavily modified libicq2000 without sigslots
and all that?

NO. Changes are only in I/O layer and I removed very slow sigslots.

All the direct connection routines are also left away currently in the JIT
version on libicq2000. I'd call this "heavy modifications" ;-).

I'd be glad if you could implement direct connections in JIT (at least
configurable).

Maybe next week. :)
But DC wil be disabled by default for safty.

JIT has all I/O in one thread. It is very safe and stable. I have JIT
version on jabber with modules, and I can have all modules: jsm, xdb +
JIT on one jabber.

Yes, the concept is somewhat unusual but surely functional :-)

Perhaps I'll contribute to JIT.
I see no problems.

Currently I'm trying to figure out how
difficult it would be to include AIM support in libicq2000 (it's the same
protocol after all).
I think logic is the same. I don't know AIM protocol.

Would be a nice replacement for AIM-t :-)

Yes :)

.
