I know for a fact that 90% of the situations its not actually *just* the jabber server causing the problem, transports have their fair share of issues also.My posting was certainly not meant to bash jabber.org, IMO that server is doing a great job.
The problem is (seems to be?) that the jabber server (jabberd that is) doesn't send unavailable presence to the transport. For this it doesn't matter where this transport is running. FYI I'm using the MSN transport at amessage.de
So to me this seems to be a fundamental problem in the way the jabberd/transports work, not some troubles with a particular server..
