Besides, the question is incomplete. The first part should be: "How many developers that groks Java and are willing to sign http://www.jivesoftware.org/jsorg_contributor_agreement.pdf are out there?" I had and have my "issues" with ejabberd - Sander, maybe you still are aware of our discussion this summer ;) - but I would always choose ejabberd over Wildfire - and erlang seems to have really nice features for a service like jabber. Yes, I understand the reason of the mentioned pdf, and I understand why it has to be there. But it still sounds to me a bit like "you code for free, we earn money with your work".
