I am on several mailing lists that send the "unsubscribe" emails every week or so to all their users. Something like:
subject: Unsubscribe from JDJ List
body: click here to be removed ... if you're unhappy with JDJ List
We can also add this line:
click here to renew your Zoloft or Prozac perscription.

But I agree with Paul and Joseph that a "remove..." wording in the link would be helpful...

Maybe we need to put an applet reference in the email that says, out loud,
what the footer means, in various languages (based on locale, of course). Of
course, that leaves the people without soundcards out in the cold, so we
have to embed directions on how to get sound installed...
