Tim

Okay, forget programming languages and try this. Get a piece of paper and
draw some sort of diagram to emulate the flow of both programs.

you know some key elements.

1. there is program input, so you need to find a way to capture it.
2. there is some processing of that input
3. there is output based on the findings of the previous process.

start off real basic and the work on one section and start to elaborate on
what is required.

for example:

<<225two hundred and twenty five>>

for me would work like:
1. get integer value
2. find out how many mulitples are we dealing with 10's, 100's, 1000's etc
3. for each multiple, working in reverse map each number to it's text
relation.....

i may go for another analysis from there as well.

i don't care for code yet, just a feel for how it works.

i hope that helps a little

from there, you can work on the code.

Kind regards
Jase

Jason,

I understand what you are saying but *I* do not understand how to do these
problems. I have read over them and I do not know how to do them. And I am
a beginner. These problems may well be for advanced programmers or someone
with more experience than me.

I do not know how to do them myself so I am kindly asking if someone can
help me with them. I don't think that is too unreasonable to ask ?
