You know....Isnt it the story of a developers life that things are always
easier in the future....
We are using java 1.3.1_02 with no chance of going to 1.4 anytime
soon......That was my first suggestion....update the JVM boss...give me
what I need

In windows, you can use this command line to print your graphic file
"C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\ImageVue\KodakPrv.exe" /p
"PATH\IMAGEFILE"
it is an accesorie from windows.
