That is problematic. I can see possibly capturing the output of a "NET
PRINT" command to get the Job number but that doesn't gurantee that it is the
correct job. Possibly using JNI and native code you might be able.

All:
The Windows Print Job Number is a number generated
by the Windows Print Server when your document is printed. See attached
jpg from the 'Printing Notification'. I have boxed the job number in
red.
Any thoughts?

[jdjlist] Print Job Number from Java
Hi,
I have
searched google, JDK API docs, etc... and I cannot figure out how to get the
'Print Job Number' after I have printed a document. Platform: Win2000,
JDK v1.4.1 i.e.
DocPrintJob
job = services[ptr].createPrintJob(); job.print(doc,
pras);
Print() doesn't return anything. I added addPrintJobListener but when it fires for
printJobNoMoreEvents(), PrintJobEvent doesn't have the job number in
it.
I need to log the print job number (its a
requirement). Does anyone have any hints or do you think it is not
supported?
Thanks Roger Lacroix
