coming from the unix side, I'm not very good in windows environments... ;o) but here's just a thought: I presume that these messages are sent over a certain protocol and to/from a certain port. perhaps it is possible to write some sort of simple proxy in java that just hands through the messages and parses them for the job number on the fly. thinking of it on the other hand, it will most certainly be problematic to open this certain port in the proxy program when it is already in use by windows... hmmmmmm.....
