Title: RE: [jdjlist] [Fwd: Recommendation for a XML Viewer or explorer?? ..once again..
Hi / Hey / Hello,
I don't know whether it's good (I'm the author , so I can't determine myself) but the "cellular phone emulator" at
http://penski.tripod.com/xsoft.htm or http://uuhome.de/penski/xsoft.htm allows e.g. the display of wap / xml pages (version 1.0 as far as the set of commands/tags has
reached me) with a flexible screen size.
Menu entry for a quick start : "action->load->xml file".
The program shows the contained link-list as well.

Best of all : it's still freeware ( despite those many persons around me nearly kicking me to earn more $$$ )

For all users of the "Winnix" package (e.g. at http://uuhome.de/penski/xsoft.htm) : "Java to highlighted HTML" (Greg's previous problem) is partly done by the
"nocomments" command:

quote of doc. :
    usage "nocomments <source> <destiny>"
copy the file <source> to the file <destiny> and erase
    or convert all "C" or "Java(TM)" commentary text-elements "/* ... */" and "//"
(old and new style) ; converts to "<b>...</b>" highlighted HTML elements if requested
WILDCARDS in <source> like "*.*" are allowed (=> append mode for <destiny>)

Hey Armando,

I used XmlSpy for the duration of the trial period.  Excellent tool, but quite $$$.  Beyond that, we're modifying our XML in emacs, and I typically view any structural errors using the M$ Exploder.  We're a very cost-conscious company here...  :-) If there is a good free XML visualizer/validator I'd be interested too.

Greg
