Perhaps binaries based on IcedTea 2.4 branch [1] may be considered as EA

All distros. I'm not aware of any using OpenJDK 7u directly.
I meant most distros still use 2.3 branch and only some of them moved to
2.4.
The forest is already updated to u40 b40 and we'll look at doing an updated
release.
