Hi all, I might have missed a thread or two about this, but IIUC Jenkins is still supposedly supporting 1.5 JDK.
Excavating this thread since while proposing a pull-request [1], I saw that there's actually at least two dependencies that were compiled for 1.6: *Found Banned Dependency: org.kohsuke:asm3:jar:3.3.0* *Found Banned Dependency: org.mindrot:jbcrypt:jar:0.3m* Are these deps only loaded under some circumstances and need to be excluded from the bytecode level dependency check, or is this actually an '*UnsupportedClassVersionError waiting for happen for Java 5 users, in which case they need to be replaced with compatible versions'* as Jesse says [2] ? WDYT? Cheers [1] https://github.com/jenkinsci/jenkins/pull/781 [2] https://github.com/jenkinsci/jenkins/pull/781#issuecomment-18303526 2013/2/22 Stephen Connolly <> > [I am Stephen the preferrer of Freestyle jobs with a Maven build step > since '07] > If only it were not such an evil project type > [/I am Stephen the preferrer of Freestyle jobs with a Maven build step > since '07] > > > > On 22 February 2013 15:29, Jesse Glick <> wrote: > >> Olivier Lamy <> wrote: >> >>> I just wonder if maven job running with a jdk 1.5 will still work (/me >>>> just remember an issue using jenkins on tomcat7 with maven job with 1.5 >>>> >>> >> https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/**browse/JENKINS-16920<https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-16920> >> >> >> On 09/08/2012 03:59 PM, Kohsuke Kawaguchi wrote: >> >>> Even if we are to compile maven-plugin with 1.5, I'm pretty sure it uses >>> a number of classes from core. >>> >> >> It does.
