There are already two pages on wiki.jenkins.io describing nginx configuration (here <https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Running+Jenkins+behind+Nginx> and here <https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Jenkins+behind+an+NGinX+reverse+proxy>). When I configured an nginx reverse proxy for Jenkins, I found the information confusing and contradictory.
