If not, please purge your installation (sudo apt-get purge jenkins && sudo apt-get autoremove), set your locale (sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales) with at least one locale and re-install jenkins (sudo apt-get install jenkins). EDIT: It seems more a problem due to kernel version. In the case of Clement Gautier, the kernel is causing a JVM crash.
