I am encountering the same issue, the error is exactely the same.

Linux jenkins 2.6.32-042stab057.1 #1 SMP Fri Jun 22 02:17:07 MSD 2012 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Edit: I have noticed that if I run Jenkins from the root user with

/usr/bin/java -jar /usr/share/jenkins/jenkins.war --webroot=/var/cache/jenkins/war --httpPort=8080 --ajp13Port=-1
it starts up fine. If I execute the same command as the "jenkins" user the error occurs.
