The org.jenkinsci.plugins.gitclient.Git.useCLI=true and other remedies mentioned here didn't work with git plugin 1.3.0 and git client 1.0.4 for me. I'm running a system with remote slaves and it seems that switch is getting lost that the buggy code runs. I dropped back to 1.2.0 and 1.03 and all is back to normal.
