I am seeing this problem at about 90000 Unit tests. A while back I saw it on a smaller number of tests and increased the heap size on the windows 7 jenkins node and was able to summarize more tests. But now have java heap set to 6G on the node, system is sluggish, and throws heap error. Running Jenkins 1.509.1, debian 6 server, Windows 7 client.
To investigate if this happens on newer Jenkins release, I spun up the Jenkins test drive version 1.509.4 LTS on a Redhat5 system, set up Windows 7 node on same server as above production system. I see the same issue. The JUnit summarizer will handle 77,000 tests but not 90,000.
