I don't know if this is due to the way the $GERRIT_BRANCH and $GERRIT_REFSPEC are passed in or not. Maybe this is a doc change. But since our repository is huge with lots of tags, I haven't been able to make git-via-gerrit-triggers fast and small via shallow clones due to these extra git commands.
