Daniel Beck resolved JENKINS-11982 as Won't Fix Separate "Jenkins URL" setting into multiple more specifies URLs (e.g. PUBLIC URL for web access, e-mail link; and PRIVATE URL for slave connection...) This already exists in the (unfortunately undocumented) System property hudson.TcpSlaveAgentListener.hostName that will advertise a different host name for slaves to connect to. I don't think this deserves to be made a full UI option given the apparent rarity of the use case, so resolving as Won't Fix.
