Daniel Beck resolved JENKINS-11982 as Not A Defect Separate "Jenkins URL" setting into multiple more specifies URLs (e.g. PUBLIC URL for web access, e-mail link; and PRIVATE URL for slave connection...) Sigh... What a waste of time this issue was. Open the slave's config form, select Advanced below the launch method, and enter the real host name, followed by a colon, in Tunnel connection through.
