We would like to create an environment variable for the hostname of our code repository and use it in a pre-scm build step. This works fine w/ other plugins, but not with the pre-scm build step plugin. The variable is not resolved.
The documentation for this plugin warns that some environment variables may not be available, e.g. if created by other plugins. This should not apply to globally-defined environment variables.
