Michael, FILE_LOCK=SERIALIZED is enabled in the plugin by default and cannot be changed. What do you mean a 'hung' thread? DC will update it's NIST database every week or so and can appear it's doing nothing - but it logs to the jenkins log - not the console. You might want to try using a shared database - rather than one located in the project workspace.
