The issue is very hard to diagnose, but seems to be related to two Channels A and B being created such that Channel B in AbstractMavenProcessFactory.newProcess feeds from slaves's Channel A through ProxyInput/OutputStream. Not only this provably causes problems described in JENKINS-25697 during unclean disconnect of Channel A, there may be a locking problem caused by such channel chaining leading to this deadlock, ping timeout, closure of Channel A and a JENKINS-25697 hang.
