violation to you: an Applet is packaged together with a data file, and
the applet tries to read the data file? Well, I'll see what I can do.
Note, though, that Jess is really too big to be packaged as an applet
anyway, and much better technologies exist for deploying software like
Jess via the Web. Servlets are one excellent example. In the near
future, the applet demo on the Jess site will be turned into Servlet
demo (when I get rid of herberg's current host, a slothful, rickety
old IRIX machine that can only run Java 1.0.)

Can you give me a specific example of this problem? I did change the
way batch works, but I didn't think it would have any bad effects on
anyone's programs.
