There is a very good article in the latest issue of IEEE Intelligent Systems
co-authored by Labrou (founding member of FIPA) and Finnin (KQML camp) on ACLs,
which compares KQML and FIPA's ACL. The advantage of using ACL is that the
agents can talk to other unknown agents, who are FIPA-compliant. This will be
critical for many applications on the Internet, but at this moment is a theory,
because ACL is an 'emerging' rather than 'established' standard.
