Hi John, 

"The README" means the manual, which used to be one file called
README, then README.html, then grew into the present manual. Chapter 8
lists every function that comes with Jess, and says which package each
one is from.

Note that in Jess 6, there are no longer any "optional"
functions. Everything that comes with Jess is installed by default.
