There shouldn't be any playing around needed; the manual says to type java -classpath jess.jar jess.Main examples/fullmab.clp and that should work for everybody. > i can run Jess now. however, when i try to run the examples, there seemed to be no >screens produced (whereby there should according to the manual) . the results were >only shown in the COMMAND.COM shell, which is purely black and white whereby users >are not requried to key in anything. i'm just very curious. > I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you're referring to the following sentence in the manual (section 1.6.3, right below the command line above: ... the problem should run, producing a few screens of output. I suppose you could read that to mean that some graphical windows are supposed to come up, but that isn't what it means. It means a lot of text will scroll by. These example programs aren't meant to show to an end user; they're meant to show a potential Jess programmer what some possible Jess programs look like. There's no point in running them without looking at the .clp file to see how what it's doing. --------------------------------------------------------- Ernest Friedman-Hill Distributed Systems Research Phone: (925) 294-2154 Sandia National Labs FAX: (925) 294-2234 Org. 8920, MS 9012 [EMAIL PROTECTED] PO Box 969 http://herzberg.ca.sandia.gov Livermore, CA 94550 -------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send the words 'unsubscribe jess-users [EMAIL PROTECTED]' in the BODY of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED], NOT to the list (use your own address!)
