after playing around with the commands, i finally got the solution. i can run Jess now. however, when i try to run the examples, there seemed to be no screens produced (whereby there should according to the manual) . the results were only shown in the COMMAND.COM shell, which is purely black and white whereby users are not requried to key in anything. i'm just very curious.
