I wonder if one can configure things to utilize a filtering service like spamcop.net. The listserv would remain where it is, but it would be configured only to accept mail from, say, a [EMAIL PROTECTED] address, and contributors would now send mail to that address instead of the current one. This would still require a configuration change for the listserv, so your admin folks there still might not allow it - but it is perhaps less of a change than installing a filter locally. Just an idea.
