(I'm shortening this message because it goes to the Protege list too)

Hi Dough,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature... In Protege, choose the JessTab, select Window -> Detach current view. JessTab opens in a separate window and disappears from the Tabs. Open Project-> configure to let JessTab reappear as a Tab, select Window -> Detach current view again. Repeat until you have the number of windows you want. You can open a different subtab in each window (e.g. one for the console, one for the fact list, one for the rules etc.) However, sometimes you'll have to force the view to update. Again, I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but it is definitely the simplest way to get multiple windows.

If you consider developing a more comfortable solution, the JessTab source code is available at
http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=28307
…and you might consider to check first with the developer, Henrik Eriksson.

If you are looking for a development environment, Ernest has done a real great job with JessDE in Eclipse. It allows you to have all the Jess and Java stuff together, and you can run the Jess code with the batch command in the JessTab console.

Unrelated question: I have begun to use Jess with JessTab and Protege.
I would prefer to use an interface with movable windows that are simulataneously visible, rather than the alternative tab views of JessTab. Anybody have a suggestion on what the easiest way to implement that would
be?
