Hi all -
Without knowing the coding requirements of this, here's my two cents: It
seems like combining xreg files distributed locally is something natural to
XML. My practical experience is that I write a lot of portlet definitions
in xreg, and it is hard to comb through the one local-portlets.xreg file to
find the one I am working on at any given time. This even while I think the
focus should stay on writing portlets that can be extended, by providing
useful base portlets that can have their properties altered to create new
portlet instances without new portlet registries. Something that can
operate like a channel or config file whose entries are places to look for
xreg files (filenames with local/absolute URIs/URLs) would probably be
useful.
