jetspeed - all in java ?

Hello,

I have a question about developpement of jetspeed:

I thought that jetspeed was created with only JAVA.
Is that right?

And if is right, there is no difference between jetspeed 's running on Unix and 
jetspeed's running on Windows , isn't it ?
