Bob,
webapps/jetspeed.war should be in the TOMCAT_HOME directory. Now that
you can identify TOMCAT_HOME.

In the case of Jetspeed, just delete the TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/jetspeed
directory tree. If the jetspeed.war file exist in the
TOMCAT_HOME/webapps directory, then jetspeed will be installed when
tomcat is started.

To deinstall Tomcat on WINDOWS I just delete the TOMCAT_HOME directory
tree. Linux?
To deinstall apache on WINDOWS I just uninstall the application via
Add/Remove programs. Linux?

You might look at the Tomcat, http://jakarta.apache.org and Apache,
http://www.apache.org, web sites
